DIY Facewash.
I love this face wash, truly, I do! I've got to admit that I was hesitant to trade in my store bought acne wash and go to a wash that contains OIL. But, I couldn't un-hear the words that I heard about the ingredients contained in store bought wash, so I marched into bathroom, picked up the wash, un-screwed the lid, and dumped it all down the sink. Yep, I did! I couldn't un-do that one either. I had already quit using my prescription acne products (clindamycin gel and retin A cream) and started using Young Living's Claraderm spray instead. This not only replaced my prescriptions, it also replaced my moisturizer. Because the Claraderm spray replaced 3 products for me, I actually end up saving $10 a month and my skin is just as clear and even healthier than it was before! That's what I call a win.
Back to the face wash. I took the plunge and will never go back.
1/2 cup virgin coconut oil
1/2 cup unscented castile soap (I buy mine through vitacost. By using this link you will get a discount off your first order: http://goo.gl/nGECcg).
1 TBSP baking soda
6 drops melaleuca oil
6 drops lavender oil
1 drop peppermint oil
Melt coconut oil in a saucepan. Add other ingredients. Mix together and pour into a bottle. Enjoy your new, non-toxic wash! (You may use a different bland of oils if you would like. I included the oils for troubled skin. If I didn't have troubled skin I would choose to use Frankincence instead of melaleuca and omit the peppermint.)
